Greetings and Blessings To All Who Read This Missive

It’s time! It’s the right season, it’s the right moment, and it’s the appointed time of the Lord. There is a sure urgency at Kingdom Life this year as we seek the face of God for our family, our community, our City and the Nations. 
To simply put it -
 It’s Time To Seek The Lord Through Fasting and Prayer.

As we phase out of 2011, we can say that it has been a very interesting year and someone described it best when they said “these are the best of times, and these are the worst of times.” In a few days we will be saying goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012 but believe me when I tell you our God has much more to show us this year. 

Every year at Kingdom Life Christian Fellowship we bow our knees, and bow our hearts, and turn our plates down so we can make the necessary sacrifice to say to the Lord, “We love you and we need you.” In a Nation where most people are getting ready to celebrate Christmas, our celebration is a bit different.  While they are busy with the hustle and bustle of the holidays, we realize that we should have a season where we literally withdraw ourselves from the activities of the world for a season and seek the Lord.

I am calling on every member, covenant partner and friend of Kingdom Life  to sense the urgency of this matter and make the sacrifice to seek the Lord.
Jesus said to his disciples in:

Matthew 17:20-21

20And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

 21Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Our Lord tells his disciples that certain times and conditions call for Prayer, with Fasting added to it.  The background of this story was a Father who had a sick son who had a condition that was making the boy fall, hurt himself, and even fall into a fire. He bought his son to the disciples (The Church) and they could not heal him. It is obvious to me that something deeper was going on here other than a casual sickness because the bible says:

Matthew 17:18  And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

Jesus tells his disciples that these situations call for prayer and fasting. As we look at the condition of this world, and the condition of our Country I am sure that you agree with me that we need to seek God now. We are in need for his Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven.

Our families are suffering, our youth are suffering and being deceived by Satan, marriages are threatened everywhere around us, people are suffering due to the down turn of the economy, our Nation is at war, Christians are falling away, and the spirit of Apostasy is among us. If that’s not enough the Christian Church in America is mirroring the lost spirit of the disciples; but we take the stand that enough is enough. 

We must seek God for his voice, his answer, his word, his solutions, and his Kingdom. The Great prophet Isaiah said: 

Isaiah 58:6-8

6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward.

During this fast we will be in prayer every night at 6:3:0 p.m. at Kingdom Life. We will pray for the needs of the Community and the needs of people. We will also be offering strategic prayer for the Body of Christ and our Community that the Lord will give us “Divine Strategies” to counter the “WILES” of the devil.

• Fasting will help you with Humility.
• Fasting will bring greater discipline into your life.
• Fasting will strengthen the Spirit.
• Fasting will position you to hear from God.
• Fasting will lead you, the believer to a greater spiritual freedom.

What’s interesting about fasting is that it helps us to walk more in the spirit and less in the flesh. The bible says that the flesh is the enemy of God and we will never please God walking in the flesh.

Romans 8:6-9

 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Joel 2:15-17

15Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:

16Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

17Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

Kingdom Life Covenant Members are to be in PRAYER & CONSECRATION for 12 days straight.  This may become a little challenging with reference to our children; however, we are all required to be in attendance.  You are encouraged and exhorted!

Corporate Prayer will begin promptly each night at 6:30 p.m. and last for an hour. Please read the prayer agenda carefully and consider the things as you pray during these ten days.

Members and Covenant Partners of Kingdom Life are asked to join us by participating in the Daniel Fast, which is primarily eating Fruit & Vegetables and only Natural Food.

What is Fasting?

Fasting is the voluntary abstinence from particular aspects of life in order to seek deep dimensions of fellowship and blessings with God. The Bible gives examples of two kinds of fasts:  the absolute fast (no food) that Jesus and Moses observed in Matthew 4:2 and Exodus 34:28 and the partial fast (abstaining from pleasures---sweets and delicacies---no red meat, pork or lamb) that Daniel and John the Baptist observed in Daniel 1:8 and Matthew 3:4.

What is the Daniel Fast?

Answer:  The concept of a Daniel fast comes from Daniel 1:8-14, “But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. Now God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel, but the official told Daniel, "I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men do your age? The king would then have my head because of you." Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, "Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see." So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.”

            The background of the “Daniel Fast” is that Daniel and his three friends had been “deported” to Babylon when Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians had conquered Judah (2 Kings 24:13-14). Daniel and his three friends were in the Babylonian court servant “training program.” Part of the program was learning Babylonian customs, beliefs, laws, and practices. The eating habits of the Babylonians were not in complete agreement with the Mosaic Law. As a result, Daniel requested that he and his three friends not have to consume meat (which most likely was a sacrifice to Babylonian false gods and idols).

            Therefore, a Daniel fast is eating only fruits and vegetables for a certain amount of time, abstaining from meat products. Some people use a Daniel fast as a dieting method. Some people use a Daniel fast instead of fasting from food entirely. The Bible nowhere commands believers to observe a Daniel fast. As a result, it is a matter of Christian freedom whether to observe a Daniel fast.

"KINGDOM CONFESSION"

Recently I shared with the congregation how important it is for us to speak the word of God and have a powerful, positive confession over our lives.
God tells Joshua:
 Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Now notice carefully the frame work of this verse. God tells Joshua that the book of the law should never depart from his mouth. Now you may read this like I did and say wait a minute did he mean mind, or mouth. Think about it does the mouth have a memory, can the mouth remember a book, does the mouth have memory and mental capacity. Yes it does and he tells Joshua what you are meditating on must work it's way from your mind to your mouth. The end result is " GOOD SUCCESS". He also tells Joshua that by doing this he is making his way prosperous. Now this is mind blowing to me and a major mark in my faith to know that certain things I do, or don't do determine my prosperity. So the lesson here is that the mouth of the Kingdom Believer must be trained to to speak what God says and not what circumstances look like, or what life feels like. It's hard but we must all put our mouths in faith school and tame that tongue to agree with God. The Word says:

James 3:5-6,8 (KJV)
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! [6] And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. [8] But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Let me encourage you today to change the things you are saying, speak what the word says and experience the life of God overflowing in you. It is God's will today for your cup to overflow but you must add speaking faith to al of the other principles that you are hopefully living by.

Join me on the journey to being a faith speaker. Here are three declarations to help you get started.

1. Father, I am victorious, real failure can never happen because I am doing all things through Christ who strengthens me.
                  Philippians 4:13 (KJV) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
2. I do not lack strength, wisdom, or resources because my God is supplying all my need.
                Philippians 4:19 (KJV) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
3. I refuse to submit to fear because God hath not given me a spirit of fear but of power, of love and of a sound mind.
            2 Timothy 1:8 (KJV) Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Just think men have always been a part of Gods plan and on God's mind. From the very beginning the scripture says that God held back the rain until he got the men in place. That says a lot to all of us about the importance of men and today take some time to pray for the men that you are connected to.

Remember that when the men are in place the heavens will open and the spiritual showers will flow.

Matthew 13:24 (MSG)

He told another story. "God's kingdom is like a farmer who planted good seed in his field. That night, while his hired men were asleep, his enemy sowed thistles all through the wheat and slipped away before dawn. When the first green shoots appeared and the grain began to form, the thistles showed up, too.

UNDERSTANDING INTEGRITY

integrity means 1) an unimpaired condition, i.e., soundness, wholeness 2) firm adherence to a code of moral values, i.e., incorruptible, honor, 3) the quality or state of being complete or undivided, i.e., completeness. Synonyms of integrity are honesty and unity.

What does the Bible have to say about integrity?

1. Integrity means treating people fairly and honestly. (Leviticus 19:35-36, Deut 25:15, Proverbs 16:11-13)
2. Integrity is giving your word and keeping it. (Exodus 8:28-32)
3. Integrity will protect you. In Psalm 25, David prays that integrity and uprightness will protect him. How can it? (Psalm 25:21, Proverbs 2:7-8, 10:9, 11:3, 13:6)
4. Integrity is more valuable than riches. (Proverbs 28:6)
5. The Lord will test and judge your integrity. (1 Chronicles 29:17, Psalm 7:8)
6. The Lord hates lies and lack of integrity. (Zechariah 8:16-17)
7. It may be difficult to maintain your integrity. (Job 2:3, 2:9, Proverbs 29:10)
8. Your character can be corrupted by bad company. (1 Corinthians 15:33)
9. Integrity will be rewarded. (1 Kings 9:4-5, Nehemiah 7:2, Psalm 41:11-12)
10. Your integrity should set an example. (Titus 2:7)

9 Things That Men Should Do For Each Other

The Bible tells us to:

·  Love each other. (John 15:17)

·  Serve one another in love. (Galatians 5:13)

·  Be kind and compassionate to one another. (Ephesians 4:32)

·  Carry each other's burdens. (Galations 6:2)

·  Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other. (James 5:16)

·  Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. (Romans 12:10)

·  Accept one another. (Romans 15:7)

·  Encourage one another and build each other up. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

·  Spur one another on toward love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24)

 How To Pray For Your Spouse - Remember You Are The Spiritual Leader Of The Home

How to pray for your wife:

1.    Assure Her Of Your Unconditional Love For Her. I Cor. 13

2.      Going home tonight to bless your wife and cover her.

3.      Let her know you will be taking your role as spiritual leader and foundation of the family.

4.      Let her know that as of today you are committing to a lifestyle of prayer for her.

5.      Assure her that you will expand her world and help her to reach her potential.

6.      By Surprise – Place your hands on her and start praying for her.

Begin To Pray And Speak Over Her:

Heavenly Father, help me to love my wife, __________ sacrificially, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her:
Thank you for giving me someone to share my life with and who loves me. Lord I pray that you would equip me to be the man of God that she needs, and please forgive me if I have hurt her in anyway.
— May I never be harsh toward her but instead honor and cherish her.
— May I always remember that I am not independent of her.
— Help me to understand and fulfill her needs.
— Inspire me to draw on her wisdom and strength.
— Lead me to treat her with tenderness and humility.
— Let me display an unselfish spirit at all times.
Faithful Father, strengthen _______ and bless her daily with the joy of Your presence. I pray that the Holy Spirit would fill her life and meet her most inner most needs. Let you word surround her and fill ______ with joy unspeakable.
— Keep her safe by surrounding her with Your hedge of protection.
— Keep her clothed in Your armor and prepare her for each day’s battle.
— Give her the wisdom to perform on her job and be a witness for You.
Lord, I thank You so much for all that my wife does for me, and our family. Thank You for blessing me with such a wonderful companion, helpmate, and best friend.

Praying For Your Children

"Then He commanded our parents to teach it to their children – So the next generation would know, and all the generations to come – Know the truth and tell the stories so their children can trust in God." (Psalm 78 Msg.)

"And now a word to you fathers. Don’t make your children angry by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction approved by the Lord." (Eph. 6:4)

"He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers ..." (Malachi 4:6)

By engaging for our children, we can break generational wounds and scars. We must call out our children for the battles ahead and usher them through their “rights of passage.” It is important for children to hear from their fathers how much they are believed in and how important they are to the mission of God.

How to pray for your children

For a daughter:

“Lord, we ask for purity in her life and that of her husband. We ask for protection over their innocence and purity; protect them from others and wrong choices, call them to a higher standard. We ask for wisdom and discernment in teaching and preparing her for a life of purity and modesty. I also ask that you grant her husband’s parents wisdom as they raise a man of integrity.”

For a son:

“Lord, we pray against pornography and lust and its evil effects on his life both as a child and as an adult. Give us wisdom in teaching him to respect girls and women. Put a calling of purity upon his life that he will never use, abuse, or take advantage of girls or women. We ask for wisdom and discernment in teaching and preparing him for a life of purity.”

I pray blessing and biblical qualities for my children. The Bible has a lot to say about how we speak and the power of the tongue to do damage, but also to bring healing. “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21).

“Father we thank You for (insert your daughter’s name here), You have heaped us with bounty and we praise You for entrusting us with her. She is fearfully and wonderfully made. You chose her for us and we thank You for the gift she is to us. We bless her and ask that You fill her with “Whatever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, having virtue, or anything praiseworthy, let her think on these things.””

I pray for wisdom as a parent regarding specific issues for this child. The Bible says whoever lacks wisdom should ask…so I ask a lot! “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5).

“Lord, grant us wisdom. We ask that you would impress upon him that lying is wrong. Help us to train him to be a man of integrity and honesty starting now. We ask that you would raise him up to be an upright man; one who is pro-active for what is right. May he not be passive, but aggressive for truth and what is honourable.”

Character Counts

1.       My Character Is The Foundational Pillar That All Of My Gifts And Callings Rest Upon.

4.       If my Character is weak or flawed and I am not seeking repentance and repair, failure is inevitiable.

Be encouraged today to manifest good character. The Lord has so much for us that love him but he requires character.

Joel 1:14-15

14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord,

15 Alas for the day! For the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Joel 2:15-18

15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:

16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. 17Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? 18 Then will the Lord be jealous for his land, and pity his people.

What is Fasting?

Fasting is the voluntary abstinence from particular aspects of life in order to seek deep dimensions of fellowship and blessings with God. The Bible gives examples of two kinds of fasts:  the absolute fast (no food) that Jesus and Moses observed in Matthew 4:2 and Exodus 34:28 and the partial fast (abstaining from pleasures---sweets and delicacies---no red meat, pork or lamb) that Daniel and John the Baptist observed in Daniel 1:8 and Matthew 3:4.

What is the Daniel Fast ? 

Answer:  The concept of a Daniel fast comes from Daniel 1:8-14, “But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. Now God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel, but the official told Daniel, "I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men do your age? The king would then have my head because of you." Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, "Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see." So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.”

            The background of the “Daniel Fast” is that Daniel and his three friends had been “deported” to Babylon when Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians had conquered Judah (2 Kings 24:13-14). Daniel and his three friends were in the Babylonian court servant “training program.” Part of the program was learning Babylonian customs, beliefs, laws, and practices. The eating habits of the Babylonians were not in complete agreement with the Mosaic Law. As a result, Daniel requested that he and his three friends not have to consume meat (which most likely was a sacrifice to Babylonian false gods and idols).

            Therefore, a Daniel fast is eating only fruits and vegetables for a certain amount of time, abstaining from meat products. Some people use a Daniel fast as a dieting method. Some people use a Daniel fast instead of fasting from food entirely. The Bible nowhere commands believers to observe a Daniel fast. As a result, it is a matter of Christian freedom whether to observe a Daniel fast. Please also see our article on Christian fasting.

Answer:  Scripture does not command Christians to fast. It is not something that God requires or demands of Christians. At the same time, the Bible presents fasting as something that is good, profitable, and expected. The Book of Acts records believers fasting before they made important decisions (Acts 13:4; 14:23). Together, fasting and prayer are often linked (Luke 2:37; 5:33). Too often, the focus of fasting is on the lack of food. Instead, the purpose of fasting should be to take your eyes off the things of this world, and instead focus on God. Fasting is a way to demonstrate to God, and to yourself, that you are serious about your relationship with Him. Fasting helps you to gain a new perspective and a renewed reliance upon God.

Although fasting in Scripture is usually a fasting from food, there are other ways to fast. Anything you can temporarily give up in order to better focus on God can be considered a fast (1 Corinthians 7:1-5). Fasting should be limited to a set time, especially when the fasting is from food. Extended periods without eating are harmful to the body. The intention of fasting is to focus on God and not to punish your flesh. Fasting should not be considered a “dieting method” either. Do not fast to lose weight, but rather to gain deeper fellowship with God. Yes, anyone can fast. Some may not be able to fast from food (diabetics for example), but everyone can temporarily give up something in order to focus on God.

By taking our eyes off the things of this world, we can focus better on Christ. Fasting is not a way to get God to do what we want. Fasting changes us, not God. Fasting is not a way to appear more spiritual than others are. When you are fasting, you should have a spirit of humility and a joyful attitude. Matthew 6:16-18 declares, “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth; they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

 

Water From A Rock

   Today  I was thinking about how God can take the simple truths of scripture and really bring them to life for us. It's amazing to me that we can read the pages of the bible and see the mighty God at work and showing his love in every verse. In Exodus Chapter 17 God's people complain to Moses because they have no water to drink.

 
Ex. 17:2-3 
²Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?
 ³And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

They come to Moses and they say you have lead us to a place of death because we have no water. Now we all know that is somewhat of truth because human life cannot be sustained without water. even though they had a need for water you would think that based on the miracles of chapter 16 that would be at another faith level by now, and willing to trust God rather than complaining to Moses.


Moses takes the matter to God in prayer and God answers. Oh the joy of answered prayer and now it blesses the soul. God tells Moses to take the Elders and his Rod and go ahead of the people and he would show him a ROCK. Upon striking that ROCK God brought forth fresh living water from the heart of the rock. WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE.

Ex. 17:5-6
 ⁵And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.
 ⁶Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

What we should take away from this is that sometimes our journey with God leads us through. WILDERNESS. A wilderness is not conducive to sustain human life and to survive it will take supernatural provision. To me the rock that God lead Moses too represents a hard place in life. Yes sometimes life is ROCK HARD. But Hallelujah our God can give us fresh water from a hard place. In the middle of our rock hard situation God can bring forth fresh water that will sustain us and give us life..

Today will you join me in praising God for giving us WATER FROM A ROCK.
